1970: The recent Plattsburg horse show parade had many interesting entries. One of the prize winners is pictured above. Out for a pleasant ride on a sunny day are left to right – Spencer Bowman, Mrs. Spencer Bowman, Mrs. Slim Hickman and finally Slim Hickman. Slim was so comfortable that he not only was asleep but when he awoke he said he could ride all the way to Denver. 1990: AND THE WINNERS ARE...This group of Chamber members tallied the votes in the annual election of members to their board. Shown counting are left to right: Brooke St. John, Francis Hales, Larry Fisher, Charlie Greer and Bo Hoskins. Those elected to the board were: Alan Hall, Dave Luppes, Ham Harbord and Steve Tinnen. 2010: Plattsburg postal carriers participated in the 2010 National Association of Letter Carriers, “Stamp Out Hunger” on Saturday, May 8. They collected 600 lbs. of food and several cash donations form local businesses. It was estimated that 2,200 lbs. could be bought with the donations. In Trimble, their carriers collected about 15 lbs. of food which was donated to the Trimble Baptist Church to help a family who recently had a fire. Nationwide the program brought in more that a billion pounds for the nation’s food pantries. |
