The Gathering Place Fundraiser

Join The Gathering Place this sweetheart day to give a valentine to those in the Lathrop, Plattsburg and Gower communities.

Here is how you can help:

• Give a meal. Your tax deductible gift of $50 or more can help provide hot meals to seniors.  They will place a heart on our window in honor or in memory of your designee.

• Sponsor a meal. Your business or civic group can sponsor our home-delivered meals through financial giving. Purchase gift certificates for your family, friends, or neighbors for gifts at any time of the year.

• Leave your legacy. Remember The Gathering Place as a memorial to your loved ones or in your estate plan to help provide meals to older adults in our community for years to come.

The Gathering Place provided more than 19,764 meals in 2019 to senior adults in Plattsburg, Gower, and Lathrop. With the impact of Covid in 2020, 15,805 meals were still provided.

The decline was due to the inside dining being cancelled. A pickup window was added to serve the previous dine-in customers.

Delivered hot meals by volunteers helped many older adults stay in their homes or come back to their homes after a long illness.

Since 1979 we have provided hot meals, companionship and a watchful eye on the health and safety of seniors in our hometowns. Please help us keep seniors at home where they want to be.

As soon as Covid is under control, we will again provide companionship at The Gathering Place.
