Lair's Legislative Log
7/26/2010
By Seventh District State Rep. Mike Lair "Missouri in late July and early August is a test of endurance for man
and beast. We have weathered dangerous heat, high humidity,
thunderstorms, high winds, and flood warnings with more of the same to
follow. I have had a couple of days to meet with constituents in
Carroll and Caldwell counties, write and deliver a couple of speeches,
and attack the growing pile of paperwork that threatens to bury my desk."

Capitol Report
7/26/2010
By 12th District State Senator Brad Lager "Over that last several weeks there has been a lot of discussion and
much debate about our state government’s role in job creation and
retention. All too often when government looks to “help” create or
save jobs that really means that they are taking the tax money paid by
hard working families and financially “incenting” companies to stay or
grow in our state. However, there are occasions when our state
government can facilitate economic growth simply by being fair and
reasonable in its regulatory structure."

Capitol Report
7/19/2010
By 12th District State Senator Brad Lager "Last week, the Missouri General Assembly completed Governor Nixon’s
special session call with the passage of two legislative packages. The
first package brought much needed reform to Missouri’s public pension
plans thereby ensuring fiscal health and long term solvency. The
second package created a new type of economic incentive aimed at
expanding auto manufacturing in our state."
