figures. Janice and I were immersed in constituent issues concerning
the Department of Natural Resources, MoDOT, Corrections, Department of
Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration, one
county commission, and a city government. I ended my week in Branson
for our summer caucus."

By 12th District State Sen. Brad Lager "Last week Missouri’s citizens became the first voters in the nation to
cast their ballots in support or objection to the federal government’s
take over of healthcare. While Missouri’s voters were the first to
have the opportunity to vote on a healthcare referendum, there are many
states considering similar ballot initiatives and/or legal challenges
to the constitutionality of this federal law."

By Seventh District State Rep. Mike Lair "This past week we have seen the conclusion of the primary election with
some surprises and some forgone conclusions. We dealt with the
departments of Economic Development, Labor and Industrial Relations,
Social Services, Corrections, and Elementary and Secondary Education in
our role as constituent advocates. I had a great visit and lunch with
the clientele of the new Livingston County Senior Center and enjoyed
the Kidder 150-year celebration."
