What made this team really outstanding was that only two girls were returning players. The girls were Thresa Latier whose position was pitcher and Beth Witt who was catcher. Both girls played great ball with Thresa having a home run against Lathrop and Beth keeping home safe and stopping several runs.

Playing infield positions were Erin Rider who played 1st base and caught several balls as short stop. 2nd base was Shannon Layton. Both of these girls made several outs at these positions.

Playing short stop was Carrie Jacobs and on 3rd base was Onica Blanton. Carrie caught several outs and Onica also has a home run against Lathrop.

Playing rover was Dawn Grayson. Dawn kept the hole between pitcher and 1st safe, making several outs also.

In the outfield was Angela Grayson who played right field and did an excellent job backing 1st base, in center field was Laura Murphy and Erica Carter, both these girls took turns backing 2nd base and getting the balls from the outfield to home. In left field was Colleen Finnegan. Colleen got the ball home to stop several runs.

Helping the girls also cheering them on were Coach Linda Witt, Assistant Coach Mary Busch and helping keep things in order in the dugout was Eric Carter. Eric’s business, Carter’s Welding was our team sponsor.
These girls did a tremendous job playing ball and just having a great time.

The girls were honored with a picnic and trophies given by their parents.

They are now getting ready to play in the girls T-Ball tournament in Gower. The tournament will be at 6:30 p.m. the evenings of the 5th, 6th, and 7th of July. Everyone is welcome to come and cheer them on.
