1970: Dance Recital These are seven of many students who will take part in “Youth On Parade,” a tap dance and baton recital to be given Saturday night, June 13, at 8:00 p.m. by the Sue Rose School of Dance in the East Buchanan (Gower) high school auditorium. There is no admission charge. Laura Smith and Deborah Ostrander who will twirl to “76 Trombones,” Ann Grier who will dance to ‘Singin’ In The Rain.” Lea Ann Heath, Kelley Middleton, Kim Holder and Karla Middleton who will twirl as a group to “Casey Jones.” 1990: E.B. Students Win Awards A group of East Buchanan Elementary students obtained an 85% or better on items such as: pull-ups, shuttle run, sit and reach, mile run, and sit-ups. There were five fourth graders who received the President’s Physical Fitness Award: Margaret Norris, Mary Jo Fisher, Kyle Bunten, Travis Utz, and Andi Jensen. There were six fifth graders who won the same award: Phillip Weaver, Brandon Peppers, both second year winners, Bradley Jackson, Mandy Groom, Stephanie Mitchell and Melody Grier. They are fine athletes who work towards their fitness goals. 2010: SHATTO MILK COMPANY celebrated Dairy Month Saturday, June 19 with their annual Family Day at the Farm. Organizers said the day went well despite the rain. “We had about 2,000 wonderful folks visit. The rain did cut things short, however many folks did stay around much of the afternoon just looking around the bottling plant and enjoying our new cheese making facility,” said Matt Shatto. “Overall, it was a terrific day where we were able to meet many new customers and share our family farm with them and their families.” |
