1970: Gower Centennial Queen Miss Beth Ann Rowland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Rowland, was chosen Centennial Queen at the ceremonies last Friday evening Her attendants were Miss Betty Horn and Miss Marilyn Crouse. 1990: DISTRICT TRACK CHAMPS...The PHS boys track team won the District track championship last Saturday at North Platte. This year the team won seven track championships including the KCI Conference title. Coins For A Cure During the month of April students at Ellis Elementary brought in change to donate to the “Coins for a Cure” campaign. The money was donated to the American Cancer Society through the Cameron Relay for Life event. Three teams will represent Clinton County R-III this year – two staff and the PHS Student Council. The event begins this Friday. Ellis students raised a total of $1,207.57 which will be given to the Relay for Life of Clinton/DeKalb counties to benefit the American Cancer Society. The top three classes were Mrs. Grigsby’s class: $321.65, Mrs. Poindexter’s class: $232.97, and Mrs. Dunning’s class: $156.69. |
