1970: Brent Kreiger, Kathy Hamby, and Bill Crane are pictured from a scene in the dramatics play “If A Man Answers”. If A Man Answers “If a Man Answers” was superb Friday evening entertainment. The Plattsburg Drama class presented a polished performance of the sophisticated comedy. Kathy Hamby, as Germaine Stacey, was a spontaneous and delightful ingenue. Brent Kreiger as Gene Wright was vulnerable and susceptible to her pursuit of him. The Stacey family scenes portrayed in front of the curtain were enacted so well, the absence of set was irrelevant. Bill Crane assumed the character of John Stacey with dignity and ease. Janette Halferty mastered a difficult accent for the role of his French wife. Gene Wright’s bachelor apartment was interesting and color was added by the entrances and exits of several lovely models. Claude Smith was Gene’s dignified father, Mr. Chadwick. He appeared in the closing scene to reveal the men as masters of the situation despite the females scheme. The two plays of the season have been comparable to any high school production. We have reason to expect the same next year. Plan to attend and support the Plattsburg Drama class. 1990: FAMILY FUED...A friendly, but serious, challenge between the two Horn Brothers, Jim, left, and Kenny. The game was mushrooms. Kenny was first to score, but Jim was not far behind. The above photos show the men were quite successful in the contest. However, the Leader certainly is not going to pick the winner...especially since neither one of the men offered us any free mushrooms. 2010: Saturday, April 10th JJ’s Restaurant hosted a Comedy Night featuring “Little Debbie”, Jason Dixon and Plattsburg’s own Craig Peters. Nearly 150 came out to see the show. Donations were taken for the Clinton County Sheriff Department’s Community Fund - $1,000 was raised.
