One of the parts of the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s holiday was a solo by Joe Harris of the Plattsburg Second Baptist Church. The services honoring Dr. King were held on Monday morning. Dr. King's Birthday Observed in Plattsburg Monday, January 21st a crowd estimated to be between 60 to 75 persons attended a 9:00 a.m. service for "The Worship of God Observing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day". The Church pastored by Rev. Charles H. East, Jr., is located at 4th and Depot in Plattsburg. In addition to the singing of hymns, the program included Scripture reading by Brother Tony Stone, reading by Sister Tiffany Graham, significance of the Day by Sister Shonda Graham, a solo by Deacon Joe Harris, Jr. reading by Sister Lovell Rucker and Pastoral Comments by Pastor East. This was followed by a video of Martin Luther King.
