1970: Honored by College of Agriculture Three Clinton countians were recently honored by the College of Agriculture at the university of Missouri-Columbia for their leadership in agriculture. From right, Elmer R. Kiehl, dean of the college, presented Woodford Roberts, Lawson; Donald Kellam, Trimble; and Louis Van Buren, Lathrop with College of Agriculture Centennial medallions. The Mrs. Robert, Kellam and Van Buren also were present for the awards presentation. Presentation of the Centennial medallion to a cross-section of agricultural leaders over the state is the College’s way of recognizing the contribution of the many individual leaders to the development of Missouri agriculture during the past 100 years. Kiehl also presented the Centennial medallions to 13 other leaders in the four-county ABCD area in northwest Missouri. 1990: VETERAN’S DAY EXPLAINED...American Legion member, Jack Gump, at far right, explains the purpose of Veteran’s Day to the students in Lou Ross’s class at Ellis Elementary recently VETERANS HONORED AT ELLIS...The color guard of the American Legion Post 97 of Plattsburg performed a flag ceremony at Ellis Elementary Monday, November 12th.
