Caldwell Co. accident kills two

 

Friday morning accident claims the life of former Lathrop student

Two men – including a Lathrop graduate – were killed Friday morning in a vehicle accident in Caldwell County, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, Mat Tucker, 21, Lathrop, Mo., was fatally injured in a three-car accident shortly before 5 a.m. on Friday. The accident occurred on Highway 116, approximately three miles west of Polo, Mo.

Keith Staus, 28, Polo, Mo. was also killed in the accident.

According to the report, the accident happened when Tucker – eastbound on 116 Highway in a 2009 Ford F-150, crossed the center line and struck one vehicle, and then another, before coming to a stop. Tucker was not believed to be wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The double fatality marks the eighth and ninth lives claimed in Missouri’s Troop H in 2012.
